Jordan Brand made sure to keep within the confines of tradition despite the brand new woven upper here, as original Swoosh branding and Wings logos return in premium leather to contrast the breathable material throughout. The midsole is fashioned just as the original featuring encapsulated Nike Air for lightweight cushioning.

This new "Phat" model pays homage to Air Jordan's past as an impromptu skate Nike Air Force 180 shoe. In the 80's, before there were the big name skate shoe companies, many skated in the Air Jordan 1 as there were few alternatives available. All the pieces of the Air Jordan 1 are in place and little has changed, silhouette wise, but additional padding has been added to the innards and to the tongue. This is similar to what was done to the Nike Dunk as it was slowly converted into the Nike SB version. A white/cement Air Jordan 1 Low Phat colorway will also release on September 27th, 2008. Both colorways will only be available at select Jordan retailers but of course we found them on eBay early.

You can expect the early release to go down on May 10th before the full rollout on May 25th, with a retail price of $175 USD.
