The latest model exemplifies the label’s futuristic look while paying homage to classic Japanese artifacts. “Kusari” comes from Japan’s mail armor used by samurais – inspiring the construction with the use of mesh throughout the upper, as well as intricate string-work along the eyestay. Adidas Y-3 Women incorporates new age technology with the vintage aesthetic by implementing a full boost mid-sole. Debossed branding at the tongue gives this model a signature touch.
We first saw the Adidas Y-3 Men in June during Paris Fashion Week. Now Yohji Yamamoto is set to release the latest color option, the Adidas Y-3 Cheap ‘White’. Looking closer they feature a flexible Primeknit upper which will fit you feet like a sock. In addition we have suede on the toe box while the Three Stripes branding on the tongue is knitted. Y-3 branding is used however the presences isn’t that strong. Other details includes White on the Boost midsole while Black covers the rubber outsole.
We are seeing more models and color mashups from the Adidas Y-3 Sale line. Using the Harigane model, the Three Stripes brand is now releasing the ‘Black Champagne’ edition. Featuring a Black Primeknit upper while Champagne lands on the counter weave. In addition we have a herringbone design on the outsole which has Off-White (Champagne). Following we have a Black pipe stripe around the heel. Finishing the look is the Y-3 branding seen throughout.
